Cop said I already had a ticket for speeding, but I don’t?

I was pulled over a few days ago for speeding. That’s not the problem because I was, in fact, speeding. When the cop had done whatever computer stuff he was doing, he came and asked me if I had a speeding ticket already this year. I said no because I haven’t. He asked “Nothing back in June?”

I told him I did get a ticket in June, but it wasn’t for speeding and asked if speeding was listed as the reason for the ticket. He told me it was. The ticket from June was for an accident in which speed was not a factor.

What went wrong here? Was he lying to try to get me to admit more fault? Is the computer just wrong/the filing terms are off? Maybe my ticket was filed wrong in the first place?
