The Desaturation of Durable Goods: An Economic Interpretation
Over the past two or three decades, a marked convergence toward chromatic restraint has become evident in residential interiors, exterior finishes, and automobile color palettes. Newly constructed homes overwhelmingly favor white, beige, black, and a narrow band of mid-tone grays.
