A free internet?

The powers that be are looking to censor the internet more and more, applying AI to do what the algorithm has not already done.

Would it be possible to create a free internet? You can already send Email (Thanks Dr. Shiva) and Bitcoin to transfer data through HAM radio. I feel like creating a truly open platform for free speech and sharing of information would be important. How could one realistically achieve this?
