At this point I’m convinced Musk bought Twitter to train an AI to manipulate global politics

I can’t really post this anywhere else so you guys get to deal with it. Given how machine learning works, feeding it a bunch of data on political leanings could give it the ability to accurately manipulate the public. Doing this manually was the thesis behind the notion that Russians somehow brainwashed the public in 2016, which means there might be genuine concerns that this is possible.

If an AI was trained with political rhetoric, the locations and political persuasions of hundreds of millions of users, and the engagement various issues generate it could identify social faultlines in any society with significant Twitter activity.

This might not be novel but the events of the last few weeks seem to make it plausible. Musk, or an someone operating his account, found himself on the unpopular side of a political issue. He immediately deflected to British rape gangs, which have been known about for years but censored in the UK, and takes the heat off of himself.

Previously he sided with Trump and helped elect him. According to Rogan he knew the result of the election hours before it was called and supposedly had an app built to call it. Rogan is a troglodyte and I suspect Musk was just looking at polymarket like me, and that had a clear prediction by 10 EST. But it could have been Grok.

Must has been increasingly political in Europe as well, weighing in on British, German, French, Italian, and EU policies in ways that seem to be pissing off the powers that be.
