Brookhaven police department uses drone to find a resisting suspect in a Wingstop ceiling
—–
Brookhaven police used a drone to find a suspect hiding in Wingstop’s ceiling on Wednesday after he evaded officers trying to arrest him on an active warrant.
Police said the incident began when officers responded to reports of a man threatening employees. The man, who had a warrant for assault, resisted arrest and ran from officers, hiding inside the business.
After searching the premises, officers believed the man had climbed into the ceiling. Using a drone, they located him in a corner above the ceiling. Once spotted, the suspect surrendered and was safely taken into custody.
Brookhaven police credited teamwork and technology for ensuring safety during the incident.
Bodycam video shows the suspect’s initial encounter with officers. Then, drone video shows the inside of Wingstop’s ceiling as officers eventually find the suspect hiding.
