Other than freedom what are the principles upon which anarchism is based?

I’m uneducated in anarchist systems though I find them interesting as my political philosophy sees any government as bad but somehow necessary – it’s a rough and dirty business because we don’t know any better. I can’t believe anyone thinks any one political system is somehow ‘the’ solution: it has definitely led to frustration from the general public.
