Poverty rate in Argentina and Milei

Many people have pointed out the high poverty rate in Argentina. We have had some statistics coming out like these:

However there is obviously a question of causation, and attributing the problem and cause of the spike in poverty to some factor(s.) Some in the anti-Milei camp say the cause is austerity. Those in the pro-Milei camp or simply those who favor markets say that the bad policy and inflation preceding Milei taking power is the cause.

In my view the Argentinians could have remained on its high inflationary course but in my opinion this would have caused greater economic dislocation and problems in the future.

If you believe austerity is the cause for the higher poverty, what do you attribute the already existing trend to? What politics/policy would you favor instead of austerity?
