Ripping Us Off?

Earlier today, long-time Cafe Hayek patron Regan Taylor sent the following note to me. I share it with his kind permission.

Trump often says that other countries are ripping us off when we trade with them. But other countries are perfectly willing to sell to me at a price I find agreeable. I have no problem with that trade. I only feel cheated when our govt sticks its nose in my business and demands that I pay $X more for those foreign goods. So who, exactly, is ripping off whom?
