The Economist Country of the Year

Potential candidates mentioned in the news story I listened to (article is behind a paywall) were Poland, South Africa, Syria, and Bangladesh. Interesting that the historic progress in one country weren’t even part of the discussion. I’m sure the only thing mentioned during the in office discussions wer, “oh but there are still poor people” in the barrios.
