The Libertarian Party Chair’s Dinner With Trump

Trump asked what do libertarians care about? Angela immediately said free Ross Ulbricht. He was surprised that it was ‘just one guy’. Intrigued, he asked; Who is this guy? Who could be so important?

Trump kept pushing as to why this one guy was so popular, which led to a discussion where we illustrated Ross’s significance as a martyr for our cause.

I got to define libertarianism as the belief in individual/property rights and voluntary society based on peaceful cooperation, whether that is free speech or trade.

I explained that around the same time people were creating free speech platforms on which any information could be exchanged, Ross, according to the same principles, created a platform on which anything could be traded.

Jailing Ross was similar in our view to if someone was jailed for creating a non censoring communication platform.

He wasn’t a drug kingpin, he was an idealistic kid with the programming skills to create an open platform around the time that technology emerged. His excessive punishment has done nothing to stop the existence of similar platforms on the so-called dark web.

Trump was quick to say he would free Ross, remarking that freeing people was one of his favorite things he did.

He immediately began working out how he would mention he would free Ross in his speech at the libertarian convention. Saying I think I’m gonna just drop it in suddenly before testing the line ‘And by the way we’re gonna free Ross.’

And that is essentially what he did. At our convention and many times since.

We continued to discuss an array of topics, including freeing Assange, capital gains tax on competing currencies, stopping WW3, marijuana reform and medicinal utility, black market conditions driving the demand for fentanyl, Fauci’s corruption and role in the AIDS crisis, regulatory issues in agriculture/medicine, ending the Department of Ed, the destruction of opportunity, the need for fundamental change to the administrative state draining the lifeblood of the country, and the negative directions the country might go if we don’t.

Without communication, mutually agreed upon opportunities to mitigate suffering remain undiscovered.

The coalition emerging around Trump presents an opportunity for input from more outside the box thinkers than ever before.

We have a big uphill battle against entrenched special interests, but if the best ideas are taken from each we could end up with something special.
