Assuming the California prison system still exists as is, is it moral to allow Fire Camps to operate?

Let’s imagine that pushing the No button would shut down the California Fire Camp program, which currently allows a very select group of inmates to be hired as well-trained and equipped state firefighters.

In exchange, incarcerated are paid $5-10 a day for training and $10-20 for active fire fighting, as well as 2 days counted for every day served on their prison sentence. Currently there are 400 inmates in this program.

Click the no button, and the program ends, but no other changes to the prison system are enacted. Click the yes button, and the program will remain.
